
#5 Wrestling Opens Conference Action with Duke at Home

RALEIGH – Fifth-ranked NC State wrestling returns home to Reynolds Coliseum to kickoff ACC Network's Friday Night Duals with Duke. The dual-meet is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start time with the Triangle-rival.
Dual-Meet Info
• Official dual-meet start time for the Wolfpack against the Blue Devils is 5 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum.
• The duals will be broadcast on ACCN Extra with commentary from Evan Budrovich and Nick Gwiazdowski.
• Admission tickets for the event can be purchased here.
• The theme for fans is red out and singlet rally towels will be given away while supplies last.
• A meet-and-greet will be held in the Grand Hall directly following the conclusion of the match.

Series History
• Friday's dual-meet marks the 71st meeting between the Wolfpack and the Blue Devils. NC State dominates the series over Duke by 44 victories. Amidst the Popolizio era, the leader of the Pack carries 10 wins over the Triangle-foe, only allowing them to win in 2013 and 2015.
• The two faced each other this past season in Cameron Indoor Stadium that resulted in a 36-9 win for the red-and-white. Koy Buesgens, Vince Robinson, and Tyler Tracy each made their dual-meet debuts at the match.
Quick Notes
• The ACC holds five teams ranked nationally in the top-25 (No. 5 NC State, No. 8 Virginia Tech, No. 15 Stanford, No. 18 Pittsburgh, and No. 25 North Carolina). There are seven teams total with wrestling programs in the ACC.
• The program entered the top-5 at No. 5 on January 7 after occupying the No. 6 spot for seven consecutive NWCA polls this season.
• Nine of the 10 weight classes for NC State boast a ranked wrestler by InterMat, two of which are in the top-10.
• NC State opens the season as the defending ACC Champions for the sixth-straight season. The consecutive titles make the Wolfpack the second wrestling program to hold at least six consecutive ACC trophies (other program is previous conference member Maryland. The program now has 21 total conference championships, the most among current ACC teams.
• Isaac Trumble placed second in the heavyweight bracket at the highly-competitive Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitiational on December 7th after tallying ranked wins over No. 20 Lance Runyon of Northern Iowa and No. 5 Cohlton Schultz of Arizona State. His lone loss in the finals came from Oklahoma State's No. 3 Wyatt Hendrickson who placed third at the 2023 & 2024 NCAA Championships.
• Multiple ACC Wrestler of the Week Awards: Vince Robinson (125) on Nov. 12 & Isaac Trumble (285) on Nov. 19
• Trumble (285) placed second at CKLV after tallying both top-5 and top-20 victories on his way to the finals.
• Ed Scott (157) picked up his 80th career win on Nov. 23 during the home match with Utah Valley.
• Matty Singleton (174) picked up the highest ranked win in his career over #11 Simon Ruiz to clinch the team win over #12 Cornell on the road.
