
Women’s Tennis Set for ITA All-American Championships

CARY, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team is ready to compete in its second event of the fall season with the ITA All-American Championships. NC State will send six of its members to participate across singles and doubles at the tournament held at Cary Tennis Park from Saturday, Sept. 21 to Sunday, Sept. 29.

The prequalifying draw of the tournament will begin on Saturday, Sept. 21. Gabia Paskauskas and Mia Slama will play singles matches at 10:15 and 10:30 a.m., respectively. Kristina Paskauskas will play her round of 128 match at 11 a.m. and Jasmine Conway will play at 1 p.m. Slama/G. Paskauskas will also play doubles on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Conway/K. Paskauskas will follow at 5:30 p.m.
Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo will begin playing in the qualifying portion of the tournament starting on Monday, Sept. 23. The main draw for singles and doubles will begin on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
The ITA All-American Championships are the first of four qualifiers for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, which will take place from Nov. 19-24 in Waco, Texas. The NCAA DI Competition Oversight Committee approved a two-year pilot program to hold the event in the fall for 2024 and 2025. At the ITA All-American Championships, 10 singles players (eight main draw quarterfinalists and two feed-in consolation finalists) and four doubles teams (four main draw semifinalists) will earn automatic berths to Waco in November.

All six student-athletes competing in Cary saw action last weekend at the Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic. Slama went 3-0 in her singles matches, while G. Paskauskas, K. Paskauskas and Zampardo finished 2-1 in singles. Broadfoot picked up a ranked victory over No. 51 Kylie Bilchev of Georgia Tech. Conway and K. Paskauskas started the weekend 2-1 in doubles competition.
The Wolfpack will stay in North Carolina for its next fall tournament with the ITA Carolina's Regional in Chapel Hill. That tournament will run from Oct. 17-21.
