RALEIGH, N.C. – Six former/current NC State swimmers were named to the 2024-25 USA National Team, as announced by USA Swimming on Monday.
NC State will have three men and three women sporting the Stars & Stripes in 2024-25 – Katharine Berkoff, Kennedy Noble, Brooke Travis, Ryan Held, Daniel Diehl and Aiden Hayes. Only 50 female and 56 male swimmers were selected to the 2024-25 national team roster.
Berkoff and Held represented Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games earlier this summer. Berkoff earned a bronze medal with a third-place finish in the 100-meter backstroke finals, finishing with a time of 57.98 to become the first female swimmer at NC State to medal at the Olympics. Her second medal was gold as she led off the 4x100m medley relay with a time of 58.98 to help Team USA qualify for the finals.
Held helped lift the men's 4x100m freestyle relay to a gold medal, marking his second Olympic gold medal in the event after leading off during the prelims to help Team USA reach the finals, where they finished first.
