
Diana Shnaider Accepts Invitation to the Paris Olympic Games

RALEIGH, NC- Former Wolfpack women's tennis star Diana Shnaider has achieved a significant milestone in her career by accepting an invitation to compete in the Paris Olympic Games. She will be the first Wolfpack women's tennis player to do so, representing as an Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) this summer.

Following a successful freshman season at NC State, in which she won ACC Freshman of The Year and helped guide the Wolfpack to their first-ever ACC Championship and first-ever appearance in the National Championship, Shnaider has continued her success on the pro tour.

Shnaider has reached a career-high singles ranking of 30 following her second singles title at WTA 500 Bad Homburg a few weeks ago. Her first singles title came at WTA 250 Hua Hin back in February. In 2024, she is 29-13 with a career record of 123-57. Â

Recently, Shnaider is coming off an appearance at Wimbledon, where she advanced to the third round. Shnaider will play in singles and doubles at the Olympics with doubles partner Mirra Andreeva.

Individual Neutral Athletes (AINs) are athletes with Belarusian or Russian passports who have been confirmed as eligible and invited to compete at the Olympic Games Paris 2024. The AIN quotas were determined on the field of play through the existing qualification competitions and the specific eligibility requirements of the International Federations.
