Pack Wraps Up First Day of ACC's in Atlanta as Tyynismaa is Crowned 10,000m Champion

ATLANTA, Ga. – The NC State track and field team opened postseason action with three athletes earning a personal best in their respective events and one earning All-ACC honors on day one of the 2024 ACC Outdoor Championships in Atlanta.
Junior Amaris Tyynismaa finished first in the women's 10,000m final with a time of 33:42.57 to take home the gold and earn First-Team All-ACC honors.
The Pack also had three members earn a spot in the finals of their respective events – Grace Hartman, Sam Bush, and Xavier Branker.
After day one, the Wolfpack Women checked in at fifth in the team results with a total of 11 points.
The Pack will continue action on Friday, May 10 in Atlanta starting at 3pm in the women's shot put.

Women's Hammer Throw - FINALS

- Sydney Freeman recorded a throw of 55.27m to place 11th
- Mahkayla Hart recorded a personal best of 48.19m and finished 18th
- Jakerra Covington finished eighth in the event with a throw of 41.35m
- Katie Horne placed 10th with a throw of 39.71m
- Grace Hartman recorded a personal best of 4:15.17 to finish fourth and move onto the finals

- Xavier Branker finished fourth with a time of 51.47 to move on to the finals
- Kyron Parker set a new personal best with a time of 21.56 and finished 17th in the race
- Myles Epstein placed 18th in the prelims with a time of 21.65
- Wesley Larson placed 27th with a time of 3:51.58
- Zach Hughes finished 31st in the event with a time of 3:53.75
- Miles Ally placed 34rd and finished in 3:55.75
- David Vorbach finished 36th with a time of 3:57.05

- JJ Malach was the highest finisher for the Pack as he placed 11th with a time of 30:12.26
