Gardner Earns Spot in Eugene on Third Day of East Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The men of the NC State track and field team returned to the field Friday afternoon for their final day of competition in the NCAA East Regional hosted by University of Kentucky.
Senior Brett Gardner punched his ticket to the NCAA Championship in Eugene, OR after placing ninth overall and third in his heat in the 3000m steeplechase. He finished the race with a time of 8:39.19 and became the third member of the Pack to earn a spot in Eugene.
The women will return to the track on Saturday for the final day of Regional competition. The first race for the Pack will begin at 5:15pm.
