
No. 15 Women’s Tennis Drops Match 2-5 to Florida State

RALEIGH, NC. – No. 15 Wolfpack women's tennis (17-7, 7-4) fell to No. 29 Florida State (14-6, 8-3) at home on Sunday 2-5 from the J.W. Isnehour Tennis Center.
Four seniors were recognized for their careers with the Wolfpack prior to the match. Sophie Abrams, Gina Dittmann, Amelia Rajecki, and Abigail Rencheli all saw their final regular-season match on the home court.
The Wolfpack started by grabbing the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court one from and a 6-3 win on court two with high hopes heading into singles play.
For only the fourth time this season, No. 5 Rajecki fell first in singles play, 2-6, 2-6 to No. 46 Vic Allen.
On court six, Abrams put the Pack ahead in the match, winning 7-5, 6-2, for her 79th win at NC State and 91st overall in her career.
The win on court six was the only singles win the Wolfpack would see, as the Seminoles won in straight sets on courts five, four, and two.
Anna Zyryanova looked to add a third point for the Wolfpack and a win to her name after forcing a third-set 10-point tiebreaker following a 7-6 (6-8) win in the second set. In the lengthy tiebreaker, Zyryanova fell 10-7.
NC State will now turn its attention to the final weekend of the regular season, which sees them travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech on Friday, April 12, at 4 p.m. The Wolfpack will then take on Clemson on Sunday, April 14, at noon in the final game of the regular season.
