Pack Falls to #5 Duke in Game Two of the Series

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State softball team fell to No. 5 Duke, 6-1, in game two of the series Saturday afternoon.
The Pack moves to 27-22 overall and 3-17 in ACC play.

The Pack will host the Blue Devils for the series finale on Sunday, April 28. First pitch is set for 4pm and the game will be broadcast on ACC Network.

How it Happened
- Aisha Weixlmann started the afternoon off by striking out the leadoff batter. The Blue Devils plated two in the first after two singles allowed runners to score.
- Duke plated a third run in the third but the Wolfpack responded in the bottom half of the frame. Sophomore Amanda Hasler drilled a first pitch bomb to left field with two outs on the board to minimize the Blue Devils lead to two.
- The Blue Devils pushed the lead back to three after a solo home run by Gisele Tapia led off the fourth inning. Duke added its final two runs to the board in the top of the sixth after a two run homer by Amiah Burgess.
- The Wolfpack struggled to gain momentum offensively throughout the afternoon as the lone hit came from Hasler's home run.
- Weixlmann pitched all seven innings and finished the outing with three strikeouts. She moved to 7-7 on the season in the circle and recorded a career high 147 pitches thrown.
- Hasler's homer was her 15th of the season and the 25th of her career.
