
Pack to Head North for Final Road Series

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The NC State softball team is set to head to Charlottesville for the final road series of the 2024 campaign. The Pack will face Virginia starting on Friday, April 12 at 7pm before wrapping up play on Sunday, April 14 at 12pm.Â
Friday's game will be broadcast on ACC Network and the final two games of the series will be streamed on ACCNX.Â

- Would move the Pack to 23-18 on the season
- (on Friday) Would be the third win in ACC play this season
- Would mark the 617th win in program history
- Would be the 180th win in ACC play in program history
- Would mark the first series win of the 2024 campaign
- Would be the first series win since the Pack swept Boston College in 2023
- Would be the first series win over Virginia since 2017 when the Pack swept the Cavaliers in Raleigh.
- Friday's meeting marks the 51st meeting and 16th series between the two programs.
- Virginia has won eight of the last 10 meetings -- NC State's two wins occurred in Charlottesville.
- NC State has scored as many as 14 runs and as few as zero against Cavaliers.
- 2024 marks the second time in 20 years (also the length of the program being a varsity sport at NC State) that there have been sisters on the team .
- In 2004, twins Miranda and Shania Ervin were on the roster -- catcher and pitcher duo. The two were also the first recruits of the program.
- The 2024 roster has both Tori and Taylor Ensley listed, marking the first time the duo have shared the same dugout in three years. Both sisters play in the outfield, with Taylor making the occasional appearance in the infield.
- The duo started all five games of opening weekend -- Tori in left field, Taylor in right. Both made an impact offensively -- both recorded at least one hit and Tori recorded a stolen base.
- The second baseman tallied her 93rd career hit in the win over Queens in game two on April 9.
- The senior would be the second member of the 2024 roster to achieve 100 career hits during the season.
- Sophomore catcher Amanda Hasler is making her presence known on the diamond.
- She leads the team with 10 home runs (tied for first), 37 hits, and 74 total bases. She also has 12 hit by pitch tallies.
- Her 28 career hit by pitch total ranks second in program history for most in a career -- Alyssa Ishibashi recorded 29 in her career.
- A nerd of the game, Hasler is one of the most intelligent softball players on the diamond. She is constantly putting in the work to grow her game and be able to help her teammates out.
- During her freshman campaign, she became just the second catcher in program history to call pitches. She also set the program record for total number of hit by pitch for a freshman (16).
- She tallied 19 career home runs (and counting).
- Taylor Ensley is having quite the season - the junior ties for first on the team in doubles (9) and RBI's (30), and is tied for second for homers (9)
- Her .373 batting average marks the best through the first 19 games of the season in her career (.359 in 2022, .259 in 2023).
- She tied a career high two doubles against ECU -- she recorded two against UNC in 2023.
- She held the second longest reached base streak (12 games) and tallies the most multiple RBI games (7) this season.
