
NC State Hosts Tennessee for NCAA Tournament Second Round Monday

RALEIGH – Wolfpack women's hoops will play at home one final time in 2023-24 when third-seeded NC State (28-6) faces off against sixth-seeded Tennessee (20-12) with an NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 berth on the line.
Tip-off for that second round matchup between the Wolfpack and the Volunteers is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN, and live radio coverage will also be available on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh and on the GoPack and Varsity Network apps.

Parking lots open at 2:30 p.m., and doors open at 3 p.m. Fans may park in the Coliseum Deck beginning at 2:30 p.m. Patrons are encouraged to continue to the top floors of the deck where there is plenty of available parking.
Parking for those with handicapped permits and NCAA parking permits will be located in the Jeter Bays lot directly adjacent to Reynolds Coliseum. This lot also opens to fans at 2:30 p.m., and anyone wishing to park here will need to have their handicap placard or NCAA parking permit displayed in their car.
Campus is operating on its regular class schedule on Monday. Parking could be limited, so please work with the parking staff on hand to assist you as needed.

SERIES HISTORY (Tennessee leads 12-3)
- Monday marks the 16th overall meeting between NC State and Tennessee. It will be the Pack's first time squaring off against the Vols in the NCAA Tournament.
- NC State and Tennessee matched up 11 times between the 1975-76 and 1985-86 seasons under legendary coaches Kay Yow and Pat Summitt.
- The teams are facing off for the first time since the 2004-05 season. In that game, played in the RBC Center as part of the Jimmy V Women's Classic, then top-ranked Tennessee won by a 64-54 score.
- Two of the Wolfpack's three wins in the series have come on its home floor. The team's last time hosting Tennessee was also its last win over the Vols, a 90-77 decision on Dec. 1, 1990.
- In total, NC State is 2-3 in true home games played against Tennessee.
- The Volunteers have won the last three in the series with the Wolfpack.
- Monday will be just the second time that a ranked NC State team matches up against an unranked Tennessee squad.
