No. 19 NC State Gymnastics Lands League-Best 13 All-ACC Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Prior to Saturday evening's ACC Championship meet, the conference's league office announced its list of All-ACC Gymnastics team selections headlined by No. 19 NC State leading the way with 13 honorees.
With 27 total All-ACC spots announced, the Wolfpack accounted for nearly half of the league's All-Conference totals as NC State's 13 selections was one shy of the 14 accumulated by Clemson, North Carolina and Pitt combined.
Nine-time ACC Gymnast of the Week Emily Shepard led the way for the Wolfpack, receiving five All-Conference honors and boosting her five-year total of All-Conference recognitions to 20.
Shepard is the only gymnast in the ACC to earn All-ACC marks on four events and as an all-arounder, closing the regular season with the highest NQS in the league on bars (9.900) and in the all-around (39.460).
Chloe Negrete added a trio of All-ACC honors on vault, beam and floor, the only gymnast in the league to finish in the top two in at least three different events. Negrete heads into Saturday's ACC Championship as the conference's vault leader with a NQS of 9.880, while she is tied with teammate Shepard on beam in second place at 9.890 and is in solo second place on floor at 9.910.
Alexis Ortega was the final NC State gymnast to accrue multiple All-Conference honors, as the graduate compiled a pair of All-ACC selections on bars and beam. Ortega now has six All-Conference honors throughout her career, with five of those coming during the last two seasons.
Beam specialist Macy Jennings alongside the Pack's freshmen duo of Katie Harper and Ashley Knight rounded out the list of accolades for the Wolfpack, with Harper's first All-ACC honors coming on bars and Knight's coming on vault.
The Pack's All-ACC honorees return to action on Saturday, Mar. 23, as NC State squares off with Clemson, North Carolina and Pitt in the first ACC Championship meet since 1984. The first rotation between the Wolfpack, Tigers, Tar Heels and Panthers is slated for 7 p.m. and will be televised on the ACC Network.
