RALEIGH – Eleventh-ranked and third-seeded NC State women's basketball (27-6) opens its 29th NCAA Tournament appearance on Saturday afternoon as it hosts 14th-seeded Chattanooga (28-4) for first-round action in Raleigh.
Tip-off between the Wolfpack and the Mocs is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Kay Yow Court inside Valvano Arena at Reynolds Coliseum. The game will be televised nationally on ESPNU, and live radio coverage will also be available on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh and on the GoPack and Varsity Network apps.

Tickets for Saturday are good for both games in the first-round session. Sixth-seeded Tennessee and 11th-seeded Green Bay will play at noon, and NC State and Chattanooga will tip off at 2:30 p.m. (or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game).
Parking for the general public is available in the Coliseum Deck. Season ticket holder permits are NOT available or valid for this event. Limited handicap parking will be available in Jeter Bays on game day.

- 2024 marks NC State's 29th overall NCAA Tournament appearance in program history and its eighth under the leadership of Coach Moore.
- The Wolfpack has been selected to compete in the NCAA Tournament seven times in a row. That is tied as the longest such streak for the team alongside seven-straight appearances from 1995 through 2001.
- NC State has advanced out of the first round in 18 of its previous 28 NCAA Tournament appearances and five times in Moore's tenure. Last season marked its first time dropping a first-round game since 2014.
- This is the fourth time in the Moore era that NC State is a top-16 seed and hosting the first two rounds of NCAA Tournament action.
- The Wolfpack has played 19 of its NCAA Tournament games in Raleigh throughout program history. The team is 17-2 in those games and has not lost an NCAA Tournament game in its home city since 1983 (current 16-game streak).
- NC State is 18-10 in its NCAA Tournament openers since its first appearance in 1982.
- In NCAA Tournament games alone, NC State is 11-18 against AP Top 25 opponents, 3-12 against Top 10 teams and 2-9 against Top 5 teams. The highest-ranked team that the Pack has defeated in postseason action was second-ranked Old Dominion during its 1998 Final Four run.
- Chattanooga will be the 43rd different opponent that NC State has faced at any point in its 29 NCAA Tournament appearances and its 26th different opening round opponent.
SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 3-0)
- Saturday marks the fourth overall meeting between NC State and Chattanooga. It will be the Pack's first time squaring off against Chattanooga in postseason play.
- The Wolfpack is a perfect 3-0 against the Mocs all time with an average margin of victory of 23 points in those previous three matchups.
- NC State and Chattanooga last matched up for a home-and-home series that spanned the 2017-18 and 2018-19 seasons. The Wolfpack hosted the more recent of those two matchups, defeating the Mocs 74-38 to close out non-conference action in December of 2019.
- Those are the two matchups that have occurred against Chattanooga since Coach Moore began his tenure at NC State.
- The Wolfpack is 1-0 in home games played against Chattanooga.
