How it Happened
- The Pack took a 1-0 lead in the opening frame after Michele Tarpey singled up the middle to bring Taylor Ensley home.
- Goins hit her first homer of the evening in the bottom of the second to mark her second of the season and add two RBI's to her stats.
- In the third, MaKayla Marbury was the leadoff batter for the Wolfpack. She drilled a homer to left center to mark her eighth of the season. Tarpey then hit a triple, the first of her career. With Tori Ensley at the plate, the first pitch thrown her way was wild which allowed Tarpey to score and push the Pack ahead 5-0. Goins then stepped up to the plate for her second at bat of the evening with two outs and drilled a homer to left center. The Wolfpack ended the third inning with a 6-0 lead.
- The Patriots saw one get on base in the top of the fourth after a walk, but were unable to score as NC State grabbed the final out.
- Alaina Smith doubled to left center in the bottom of the fourth with one out. Taylor Ensley then stepped up to the plate and singled to right center field, allowing Smith to score – Nadia Sykes entered to pinch run for Ensley. Two more members of the Pack would score in the fourth to finish the inning with an 11-0 lead.
- Rylee Wyman pitched four innings for the Wolfpack and picked up one strikeout – she walked just one batter. Kayla Fekel entered the circle in the fifth and faced four batters before the Pack picked up the final out. Wyman was credited with the win, making it her fourth this year.
- Goins led the Pack offensively with two hits (two home runs) and four RBI's.
