How it Happened
- Sophomore Rylee Wyman started in the circle for the Wolfpack and found herself with one out and bases loaded in the bottom of the second. After picking up her first strikeout of the season to pick up out number two, the final batter for the Hawkeyes singled to short. MaKayla Marbury picked up the unassisted out as the runner at second was called for obstruction. The Pack escaped the inning, despite the close call.
- The two teams remained scoreless through the fifth inning, despite having runners in scoring position on several occasions. The bottom of the sixth saw the Hawkeyes cross home plate twice after a single to left field by Devin Bowman.
- The Pack finished the meeting with the Hawkeyes with five hits. Redshirt-sophomore Michele Tarpey led the Pack with two hits in the season opener, while Madison Inscoe and Amanda Hasler each added one of their own.
- Wyman's time in the circle was completed in two innings and she finished with two strikeouts. Inscoe finished the afternoon in the circle (4.0 innings) and tallied two strikeouts on the day.

- With one out in the top of the third, freshman Carly Maxton entered the circle, making her collegiate debut. After entering the game, Maxton faced three batters, aiding in putting an end to the Tigers scoring run.
- The Wolfpack struggled to get batters into scoring position, only seeing one runner get to second after a sacrifice bunt by Ellie Goins.
- The Tigers continued to increased their lead to 13 in the top of the fifth after two doubles and a wild pitch brought four more across the plate. Missouri finished with 13 runs on 12 hits.
