
No. 5 NC State Comes Up Short Against Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – The Wolfpack dropped their third straight match on Sunday as they fell to Oklahoma on Sunday 4-2 from the Headington Family Tennis Center.
Despite dropping the doubles point, the Wolfpack looked to get back in the match during singles play, picking up first-set wins on four courts but only securing two wins afterward.
The first win came from No. 27 Anna Zyryanova on court three as she picked up a ranked win against No. 98 Ava Catanzarite 6-4, 7-6.
Freshman Maddy Zampardo picked up her fourth win of the season and first in three matches after holding off Roisin Gilheany in straight sets 6-2 and 7-6.
No. 44 Sophie Abrams got off to a fast start, winning her first set 6-2, but dropped sets two and three 6-4 to Chloe Noel.
Gabriella Broadfoot put up a fight on court six in only her second singles match this season. After falling in the first set, Broadfoot won the second set 6-2 but dropped the third set 6-0.
On court one, No. 3 Amelia Rajecki faced No. 38 Dana Guzman and secured the first set 6-4. However, Guzman evened the match in the second 7-6 before their match was abandoned, with the Sooners having secured the victory.
