
No. 20 NC State Hosts NC Central and Elon In Double-Header

RALEIGH, NC- No. 17 NC State men's tennis is set to host Elon at 12:00 PM and North Carolina Central at 4:00 PM in a double-header Sunday evening in Raleigh, NC.Â
ÂAdmission to Sunday's match is free. Fans will not need to obtain a virtual parking permit upon arrival. Free donuts will be handed out at Sunday's match to the first 75 fans in attendance.Â
ÂThe Pack head into Sunday's double-header 5-3 after sweeping Campbell 7-0 Thursday night in Raleigh, marking the first outdoor match of the season.
ÂPack in the Rankings:Â
ITA Rankings were released Feb. 20 with the Pack making an appearance at the No. 20,
ÂJunior Junior Braden Shick, and senior Robin Carty both also climbed the charts in ITA singles rankings this week. Catry now sits at No. 61, and Shick at No. 109. Junior Joe Wayand is also featured at No. 124. Wayand is also joined by Martin Borisiouk at the No. 22 spot in ITA doubles rankings.Â
ÂScouting Phoenix:
Elon heads into Sunday's match 4-3 so far this season. The Phoenix are set to host Hampton Saturday, Feb. 24 in Elon, NC. The Phoenix are on a 4 match win streak defeating fellow North Carolina schools such as Campbell, UNC Asheville, and Gardner-Webb. Elon went head to head early in the season against future Pack opponents No. 3 Wake Forest, and No. 31 North Carolina. The Phoenix put up a fight against top-3 Wake Forest falling short 2-5 in the final. The Pack currently hold an 8-0 overall record over the Phoenix. The last meeting between the two programs was Feb. 26, 2023. The Wolfpack defeated the Phoenix 5-2 in Raleigh, NC. Â
ÂScouting the Eagles:
North Carolina Central heads into Sunday's match 2-5 so far this season. The Eagles hosted Hampton Friday, Feb. 23 in Durham, NC which the Eagles defeated 6-1 earlier in the season. This will be the Eagle's 9th match up of the season, and seventh time facing the Wolfpack. NC Central has gone head to head this season against opponents such as No. 37 North Carolina, No. 31 Princeton, and No. 13 Duke. The last meeting between the two programs was last season when the Pack hosted the Eagles in Raleigh. The Wolfpack currently hold a 6-0 overall record over the Eagles with a clean sweep in all appearances, not giving up a single match.Â
