Wolfpack Travels to Clemson for First-Ever Meet Against Tigers

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State gymnastics travels to Clemson on Friday night for its first-ever meet against the Tigers. The Wolfpack's evening tilt at Littlejohn Coliseum is set for 7 p.m. and will be televised on ACC Network.
The Pack enters Friday's matchup after posting a season-high score for the second consecutive meet, besting its tally of 196.225 in a win at North Carolina (Jan. 19) with a score of 196.500 in Friday night's victory over Pitt. The Wolfpack's team total of 196.500 was its highest score in a home opener in program history.
NC State recorded the individual title in all four events and the all-around. Emily Shepard notched the individual honor on bars and tied Chloe Negrete for a first-place finish on vault and floor en route to the all-around crown. Macy Jennings and Alexis Ortega tied for the highest score on beam to complete the four-event sweep for the Pack.
After a pair of 9.925 scores on Friday night, Shepard also became the first gymnast in NC State history with at least 40 scores of 9.9 or higher.
Clemson enters Friday's meet undefeated, recording a victory over William & Mary in nonconference action before opening ACC play 2-0 with wins over Pitt and North Carolina. The Tigers also set a new season-high this past Friday with a score of 196.550 in their road win over the Tar Heels.
Following Friday's meet at Clemson, NC State returns to Raleigh for a home matchup against North Carolina on Sunday, Feb. 11. Next Sunday's meet is set to start at 4 p.m. and will be televised on ACC Network.
