
Pack Set to Play Southern at Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The No. 20/18 NC State women's basketball team is set for the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship from Nov. 25-27. NC State will play Southern on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Baha Mar Convention Center with coverage being broadcast on FloCollege.
SCOUTING NC STATE
- The Pack bounced back to defeat Coastal Carolina with a season-high in points (89) and assists (22) in the 89-68 win over the Chants on Thursday
- NC State is No. 20 in the AP Poll and No. 18 in the WBCA Coaches Poll. The Pack's two losses are to the No. 1 (South Carolina) and No. 19 (TCU) teams in the country in the AP Poll
- The Pack has six players who average 6.5 points or more per game
- Through five games, the Pack is led by Aziaha James' 19.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, and her 3.0 assists per game is tied with Zoe Brooks for a team's best
- With three consecutive 20-pieces, James now has 1,060 career points (surpassing 1K on 11/14), which is the 35th most in school history
- Saniya Rivers leads the Pack in blocks per game (1.4) and steals per game (1.6)
- The Pack leads the ACC and the country in least fouls per game (10.0), and sits in the top five in the league with least turnovers per game (4th- 12.4) and defensive rebounds per game (5th - 28.4)
- NC State will play for its 38th regular season tournament title at the Baha Mar Flamingo Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship. The Pack will play Southern on Monday and follow with playing either Washington or LSU in the championship or consolation game Wednesday
SCOUTING SOUTHERN
- ​​Southern was chosen to finish second in the SWAC Preseason Poll, earning two first-place votes
- The Jaguars are coming of a 15-15 season, highlighted by a win over Oklahoma (79-70), and a 13-5 SWAC record, a third-place finish
- Southern has started the season 0-6 with one of the toughest non-conference slates in the country, which consists of nine Power 4 schools
- Aniya Gourdine leads Southern with 12.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game with 11 total steals
- Da'Kiayah Sanders has a team-leading 14 assists

LAST TIME OUT
- NC State got back to its winning ways following an 89-68 win over Coastal Carolina to hand the Chants its first loss of the season
- The Pack outscored the Chants in the paint, 42-20, and in bench points, 36-26
