
Broadfoot, Zampardo Set for NCAA Singles & Doubles Championship

WACO, Texas – Gabriella Broadfoot and Maddy Zampardo of the NC State women's tennis team are set for the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships, which begin on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Hurd Tennis Center in Waco, Texas.
Broadfoot and Zampardo are the No. 2 seed and are set to play Tulsa's Maria Berlanga and Lily Hutchings on Wednesday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. ET. The winner will advance to the round of 16 and play the winner of Kendall Kovick/Yujia Huang (BYU)/Theadora Rabman/Tatum Evans (UNC). All matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
Broadfoot and Zampardo are coming off a successful fall season playing as doubles partners, tallying a 12-2 record in the fall, including a 7-0 mark against ranked opponents. Broadfoot and Zampardo qualified for the NCAA Championships after winning the ITA All-American, which also led to All-America status for the both of them, becoming the ninth and 10th All-Americans in school history. The tandem's results from its 7-0 run in the tournament were as follows:

- Qualifying: Gabriella Broadfoot & Maddy Zampardo (NCSU) def. No. 45 Carrie Beckman & Bojana Pozder (Notre Dame) 6-4, 7-6 (8)
- R32: Gabriella Broadfoot & Maddy Zampardo (NCSU) def. No. 36 Emma Charney & Imogen Haddad (USC) 6-3, 4-6 (10-4)
- R16: Gabriella Broadfoot & Maddy Zampardo (NCSU) def. No. 43 Marcela Lopez & Gracie Epps (Oklahoma State) 6-2, 7-5
- Quarterfinals: Gabriella Broadfoot & Maddy Zampardo (NCSU) def. No. 19 Alexis Blokhina & Connie Ma (Stanford) 4-6, 6-4 (10-3)
- Semifinals: Gabriella Broadfoot & Maddy Zampardo (NCSU) def. No. 20 Lily Fairclough & Grace Piper (USC) 7-5, 7-5
- Championship: Gabriella Broadfoot & Maddy Zampardo (NCSU) def. No. 15 Kimmi Hance & Elise Wagle (UCLA) 6-4, 6-4
Zampardo played at the NCAA Doubles Championship last season, teaming up with Amelia Rajecki to defeat Temple's Maiko Uchijimia & Samantha Nanere, 7-6 (4), 6-1, before falling to Tennessee's Sofia Cabezas & Elza Tornase, 4-6, 2-6 in the round of 16. This year marks Broadfoot's first appearance at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
The Pack has enjoyed much success at NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships. Broadfoot and Zampardo's appearance is the 14th Pack pair to qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship and 12th in the Simon Earnshaw era. Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller won the NCAA Doubles Championship in 2022 and Amelia Rajecki is coming off back-to-back semifinals appearances in singles competition in 2023 and 2024.
