Shackley, Diehl, and Rockefeller All Win ACC Weekly Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-The ACC Announced Tuesday Nov. 12, Daniel Diehl, Elisabeth Rockefeller, and Leah Shackley all earned their first Atlantic Coast Conference honors of the season. The ACC named sophomore Daniel Diehl the Men's Swimmer of the Week, Freshman Leah Shackley Co-Women's Swimmer of the Week, and Sophomore Elisabeth Rockefeller the Women's Diver of the Week.
ÂHaving podium finishes in all individual events competed in, Daniel Diehl earned his first ACC honors after contributing a total of 20 points for the Wolfpack this past weekend in its meet against Georgia. Diehl placed first in the 200 IM 1:43.85. Diehl ranks top-10 nationally in the 200 back, as well as No. 4 in the 100 IM, and No. 5 in the 200 IM. This week Deihl placed third in the 200 free, recording a NCAA B-cut time.
ÂFreshman Leah Shackley had a total of four individual first place finishes in the Wolfpack's meet against Georgia this past weekend. Shackley led the Wolfpack with a contribution of 36 individual points towards the women's overall score of 218-152. Shackley remains undefeated in all individual events she has competed in over the course of two meets. Shackley broke her previous best collegiate time in the 100y fly against the Bulldogs with a time of 51.08. Shackley's previous best time was against Arizona State, which placed her in the 5th spot in the nation with a time of 51.47. Her new time moved her up to the No. 4 spot in the NCAA, as well as inching her closer to that NCAA A-Cut time. Shackley additionally secured another A-cut time in the 100y back defending her spot as the No. 2 ranked swimmer nationally in the 100y back.
ÂRockefeller earned her first collegiate win, placing first in both the women's 1-meter, and 3-meter events. Rockefeller separated herself from her competitors creating a 6.15 point gap between herself and the second place finisher in the 1-meter event. Capping things off Rockefeller took a lead, creating an 18.53 point gap in the 3-meter event. Rockefeller earned a combined 18 points to the Pack's overall score while also hitting the mark for Zone A cut with a score of 292.58 in the 3-meter event.
