No. 19 Pack Picks Up Win Over William & Mary

Williamsburg, Va. – 19th-ranked NC State men's soccer concluded its non-conference regular season slate Wednesday night with a 4-2 win on the road at William & Mary. The win over the Tribe secured the program's first win on the road in three years, with the last away win at Longwood in September of 2021.
Hakim Karamoko opened the scoring for the Pack in the 16th minute when Niko Markovic sent a ball from the back line up to Drew Lovelace into the box who then sent a square ball across the six-yard box for a shot. This goal marks Karamoko's sixth goal of the season, putting him to the top of the leaderboard for his team in scoring.
Junior Nare nailed a shot in the 33rd minute from the top of the 18-yard box when Aidan Payne came out with a ball dished to Yves Tcheuyap who then fed it to Nare for his scoring opportunity.
NC State was able to keep the Tribe off the board in the first half, giving them a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into the second frame. However, In the 62nd minute, a long ball sent into the Wolfpack's defensive box was snuck into the back of the net by Aidan Morrison due to a miscommunication on the back line, cutting the score to 2-1.
Action would level out the next 20 minutes of the half as William & Mary searched for a goal to equalize the scoreboard.
A corner-kick serviced by Liam Bennett in the 81st minute fell to Will Noecker's feet after touching a defender's head, leading to his first goal in the red-and-white and pushing the lead to 3-1. Only two minutes later, Henrique Santos assisted Karamoko's second goal of the game, pushing his goal tally of the season to seven.
Space given to Gabe Ruitenberg in the 18-yard box with only five minutes remaining, allowed the Tribe to once again cut their trail to the Pack.
In goal, Logan Erb played a vital role in assisting his team's win, making three saves while the Pack was outshot 15-14 by the home team.
