RALEIGH - Three former NC State athletes are set to be inducted into the North Carolina High School Track & Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame, the organization announced Tuesday.Â
Sisters and former Wolfpack runners Ryen and Wesley Frazier as well as former Pack jumper Jesse Williams will be installed as members of the fifth class of inductees into the state's Hall of Fame.
Before transferring to NC State from Duke in 2014, Wesley Frazier completed an illustrious high school career, winning eight high school National Championships and 14 total State Championships. During her career representing the Red and White, Wesley was a member of the 2016 All-ACC Cross Country team and helped lead the Wolfpack women to the ACC Championship.
Wesley's sister Ryen arrived on NC State's campus in the fall of 2015 after claiming five high school National Championships and three state championships while attending Ravenscroft High School.Â
The Raleigh native went on to become both a three-time All-ACC Cross Country Performer and ACC All-Academic honoree. Ryen also showcased her talents on the track, qualifying for the 5,000m at the NCAA East Regional three times during her career.
Jesse Williams is widely regarded as one of the most talented high jumpers ever. A graduate of local Broughton High School, Williams won three State Championships before stepping on NC State's campus in 2002.
Williams spent the 2002-03 season representing NC State before ultimately transferring to USC. During his time with the Pack, he finished in a tie for third in the high jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships to achieve All-American Status.
Tied for third all-time in U.S. history, Williams is a former World Champion, two-time Olympian, four-time professional National Champion, and an eight-time World Championships qualifier.Â
The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, February 3 in Winston-Salem during the Mondo Elite High School Invitational at the JDL Fast Track.Â
