Dear Team,
After 24 years, the time has come for me to retire from an extremely rewarding career here at NC State.
I am so proud to witness all the growth and incredible achievements you have gained on and off the course. You make me proud. When I was tasked to restart the women's golf program 24 years ago, I never anticipated all the treasured opportunities, relationships and memories we would share.
Truly, my life has been a special dream made possible by so many. Being a student-athlete myself was a transformational experience for which I am forever grateful. It's been a privilege to share that same opportunity with you and all the women who have come before you here at NC State. Playing for the love of our game, our university and our teammates is a unique and special legacy.
My parents gifted me and my sisters with the game of golf, simply asking that we work hard, find joy and respect the game. My life has been blessed with their guidance and support, which enabled so many opportunities. I was lucky to enjoy golf with my whole family.
To all the current and former Pack players – thank you for your precious time, your dedication to our special game and your service to this great university. Having the opportunity to leave a legacy behind for your sport is unique and priceless. Treasure the gift of being a collegiate student athlete. It is rare.
You all have enriched my life in so many ways. As a coach, one is constantly learning. I've had the privilege to grow over time with each of you. From my heart, I thank you for sharing your journeys and dreams with me. I treasure the laughter, tears and lessons along the way. You have given me special memories.
To my fellow staff, friends and coaches at NC State – thank you. Knowing how much you cared has made my time here even better. It's been a shared journey experiencing the highs and the lows together as one Pack. Thank you for showing up to further enrich my life. And a special thank you to Darby, who has been there as a valued coaching teammate and friend.
And for my twin daughters, Emma and Rachel – thank you for sharing your time and your mother with all of our teams and the game that we love. Your sacrifices have never gone unnoticed. I love you and am so proud of the young women you have become.
The last few years have been challenging for me. None of us are exempt from grief, especially when losing loved ones. To finish my tenure at NC State with the leadership and support of Boo Corrigan and his administration is the ultimate perfect timing. I want to personally thank Boo and his wife Kristen for supporting me and my family when we needed it and when it mattered most.
Under Boo's leadership, I feel a profound peace knowing that NC State Athletics and the women's golf program are in great hands. I wish everyone associated with NC State the best.
For my team, I wish you continued success as you navigate the path to fulfilling your dreams. The time has come for me to focus on mine.
In the spirit of the Pack,
Coach Page Marsh
