Three #Pack9 Newcomers Named to D1Baseball’s Top 130 2024 Impact Transfers List

RALEIGH, N.C. – NC State baseball newcomers Hollis Fanning, Alec Makarewicz and Garrett Pennington were named to D1Baseball's Top 130 2024 Impact Transfers list over the past few weeks.
Fanning, who checks in at No. 42 on D1Baseball's list, spent his first three seasons at Tennessee before transferring to NC State for the 2024 season. Fanning made 24 total appearances with one start for the Volunteers, sporting a 2.21 ERA with 29 strikeouts and just four walks over 20.1 innings pitched. He made 15 appearances this past season, finishing 2023 with a 1.26 ERA and 24 strikeouts over 14.1 innings pitched.
Makarewicz ranks No. 66 on D1Baseball's list after exceling at East Carolina for the first four years of his college career. Makarewicz appeared in 203 total games with 183 starts for the Pirates, batting .272 with 28 homers, 128 RBI, 36 doubles, five triples and 127 runs scored.
Pennington checks in at No. 84 in D1Baseball's rankings after completing a standout season at Wichita State in 2023. Pennington batted .307 with 15 homers, 12 doubles, 55 runs scored, 18 multi-hit games and 15 multi-RBI efforts this past season.
