NC State Primed To Compete In UVA Challenge, Wake Forest Invite

RALEIGH - The NC State track and field team will be traveling to Charlottesville, VA and Winston-Salem, NC this week to compete in the UVA Challenge April 20-22 and Wake Forest Invite April 21.

The Wolfpack competed in the Tom Jones Memorial Invite last weekend in Gainesville, FL, establishing a new school record and picking up four other personal best marks.
Makala Wright took home a school record in the women's hammer throw with a personal best toss of 58.23m, good for second place in the event.
In the women's javelin throw, Jakerra Covington threw 40.88m to take a new PB and submit the second-best effort in school history. Teammate Katie Horne (40.39m) also grabbed a new personal best with the third-best mark in NC State history.
Kyzaiah Stone also joined in on the fun, setting a PB in the men's high jump invitational with a leap of 2.04m. After a jump of 13.98m, William Sistruck picked up a personal best in the men's triple jump.
