Wolfpack Will Serve as Home Team in Neutral Site Matchup at Truist Field
RALEIGH – The NC State baseball team carries its four-game winning streak into a midweek matchup against Davidson at Truist Field. Tuesday night's matchup in Charlotte is set for 6 p.m. at the Charlotte Knights' home ballpark.
A free audio stream will be available on the Varsity Network App for Tuesday's game with Andrew Sanders on the call. The midweek matchup will also be available on the radio on WKNC 88.1. There will be no live video stream available for Tuesday's game.

THE MATCHUP: SERIES AGAINST DAVIDSON
NC State holds a 90-31 all-time record in the series against Davidson. Other notes on this week's matchup against the Wildcats:
• NC State has won 11 straight matchups against Davidson dating back to 2000. Davidson's most recent win in the series came in a 7-5 victory over the Wolfpack on March 1, 2000, in Raleigh.
• NC State won both games of a doubleheader the last time the two teams met, posting a 13-3 win and a 6-4 win on Opening Day in 2021 (Feb. 21, 2021).
• The Wolfpack last faced Davidson outside of Raleigh on March 21, 1995. NC State captured a 9-7 victory under head coach Ray Tanner.
LAST TIME ON THE DIAMOND
NC State polished off a perfect 4-0 week at The Doak with a 5-4 victory over Florida State on Sunday. Dominic Pilolli lifted a game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the 10th to complete the three-game sweep, which was the first weekend sweep of the Seminoles in program history. Eli Serrano III tied the game with a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth inning to help send the series finale to extra innings. The Wolfpack drew 11 walks in the win, tying the game at 4-4 in the bottom of the 10th on a bases-loaded RBI walk by Trevor Candelaria.
WILDCAT HOMECOMING
With NC State's trip to Charlotte on Tuesday, two key members of the 2023 Wolfpack roster will be facing off against their former team. Trevor Candelaria and Parker Nolan each played their first four seasons at Davidson with both earning First Team All-Atlantic 10 honors in 2022. Candelaria and Nolan were vital to Davidson's run to its first regular season Atlantic 10 Championship a season ago.
STRONG MARK IN THE RPI
NC State ranks No. 8 in Monday's RPI poll. Since the first RPI poll released on March 6, the Wolfpack has been as high as No. 1 and has not fallen lower than No. 15 in the RPI rankings. The Pack's strength of schedule ranks ninth in the country, playing 17 of its 35 games this season against teams currently ranked in the RPI Top 25. NC State is also a perfect 18-0 against opponents with a current RPI ranking below No. 50 (51-100+). The Wolfpack looks to keep its unbeaten streak going against teams No. 50 or lower against Davidson (No. 246) on Tuesday.
GINO'S IN A GROOVE
Junior LuJames Groover III had a breakout season for the Pack in 2022, making 55 starts and 57 total appearances in his first season in Raleigh. Groover III led NC State with a .364 batting average, 86 hits, 16 doubles and a .440 on-base percentage this past season. The junior tallied at least one hit in 48 of the Pack's 57 games this past season, reaching base safely in 50 contests. Recently, Groover III has caught fire, batting .600 with a .714 on-base percentage during NC State's four-game winning streak. Groover III's hot streak resulted in the junior winning ACC Player of the Week honors and Perfect Game National Player of the Week honors on Monday afternoon.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
Davidson (21-13, 7-2 A-10) responded with back-to-back victories to finish 2-2 this past week, dropping a midweek matchup to Duke and the first game of its series against Dayton before posting a 5-4 win on Saturday and an 8-3 win on Sunday to win the series. Ryan Wilson leads the Wildcats in a plethora of categories, including batting average (.379), slugging percentage (.815), runs scored (46), RBI (42), home runs (14) and total bases (101). The Wildcats are 4-1 against in-state opponents, earning wins over NC A&T, Queens, High Point and Western Carolina.
COMEBACK PACK
The Wolfpack has rallied to win seven times after going behind first, including back-to-back comeback wins to open its series sweep of Florida State this past weekend. The Pack has recorded two wins in home series finales in comeback, walk-off fashion when Payton Green hit a two-run homer on March 5 to flip a 5-4 deficit into a 6-5 win against NJIT and then Cannon Peebles hit a two-RBI single up the middle to flip a 4-3 deficit into a 5-4 win over No. 14 Virginia on March 18.
PUTTING UP CROOKED NUMBERS
NC State's offense has scored runs in bunches this season, posting 75 multi-run innings through just 35 games (2.14 per game). NC State's single-game high for runs scored in one inning was eight runs in the bottom of the fourth against UNCW on Tuesday. NC State's single-game high for the number of multi-run innings is five, scoring multiple runs in a game five times in three different matchups.
