Six Set PRs at Day Two of Camel City Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Travis Koekemoer won the men's mile and six athletes established new personal best marks, as the NC State track and field squads wrapped up action on day two of the Camel City Invitational.

DISTANCE
In the women's 3000m, Gionna Quarzo established a new personal best with a time of 9:24.44 to finish second. On the men's side of the 3000m, junior John Malach recorded a time of 8:17.11, good for eighth place and also a new personal best.Â

Kelsey Chmiel also set a personal best while competing in the women's 3000m elite, claiming third with a time of 8:59.25.Â

Ian Harrison impressed in the men's 3000m elite event, shaving nearly ten seconds off of his old personal best to claim third with a time of 7:55.35. Ian Shanklin also recorded a personal best in the event, running a time of 7:56.82 to take fifth.

In the women's mile elite event, Samantha Bush recorded a time of 4:39.79, good for fourth place.Â

Grace Hartman (4:43.78) and Sarah LaTour (4:51.30) each finished in the top-10 of the women's mile, claiming second and fourth place, respectively. Hartman's time earns her a new personal best for the event.Â
