#22 Wolfpack Makes Sunday Trip to Virginia

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Wolfpack women's hoops (17-7, 7-6 ACC) stays on the road Sunday as it travels to Charlottesville, Va., to take on Virginia (14-11, 3-11 ACC).

The matchup is set for a noon tip-off inside John Paul Jones Arena, and the game will be televised on the ACC's Regional Sports Networks. Andrew Sanders and Ernie Myers will have the radio call on WKNC 88.1 FM in Raleigh, and fans can also listen to their broadcast on the Varsity Network app.

• Be the 1,016th win in program history (1,015-485)
• Be head coach Wes Moore's 798th career win (797-245)
• Be Moore's 240th win at NC State (239-76)
• Extend the Pack's winning streak over Virginia to seven games and be the team's fifth-straight road victory in Charlottesville

NOTING THE WOLFPACK
• The Wolfpack ranks in the top 40 nationally in fewest fouls per game (8th - 13.1), defensive rebounds per game (19th - 29.6), fewest turnovers per game (26th - 13.2) and blocks per game (33rd - 4.5).
• Diamond Johnson is the only Wolfpack player averaging double figures in scoring with her mark of 13.2 points per game. She is 12 points away from 1,000 on her career.
• Johnson (12.5 ppg), Saniya Rivers (9.5 ppg), Camille Hobby (8.8 ppg) and Mimi Collins (6.9 ppg) have scored 10+ points in at least five ACC games this season. Johnson and Rivers lead the squad with seven double-figure scoring performances each against league teams.
• Johnson and Rivers (the Pack's top two scorers in ACC play) made the start alongside each other for the first time this season against Wake Forest.
• In its 17 wins in 2022-23, NC State has scored 70+ points in 11 of those contests and limited its opponents to 60 or fewer points in 12 games. The Pack has held its opponents to single digits in 20 quarters played this year.
• The Wolfpack most recently held Wake Forest to 42 points total after limiting the Demon Deacons to 10 or fewer points in three of four of the game's quarters. That marked the fewest points NC State has allowed an ACC opponent to score since beating Virginia by a 66-38 score on Jan. 13, 2019.

SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 41-40)
• Sunday's game marks the 82nd overall meeting between NC State and Virginia. Except for the 2020-21 COVID season, the teams have faced off at least once every season since the Pack's first as a varsity squad in 1974-75.
• The Pack's victory in the first regular-season meeting between the squads pushed the series in NC State's favor for the first time since the 1990s.
• NC State won that Jan. 8 matchup by an 87-52 score on its home floor, with that marking its largest ACC victory of the 2022-23 season.
• The Wolfpack is on a six-game winning streak over the Cavaliers. That streak started with a Jan. 13, 2019 road win. In those six wins, NC State has defeated Virginia by 28 points, 20 points, 11 points, 27 points, 23 points and 25 points for an average margin of victory of 22.3 points.
