Chloe Negrete Named EAGL Specialist of the Week

Recognition Marks Negrete's Sixth EAGL Weekly Honor
RALEIGH – NC State gymnastics had a gymnast selected as an EAGL award winner for the inaugural time in 2023 during week four, as Chloe Negrete was tabbed as the EAGL Specialist of the Week after her dual meet at Auburn.
The recognition marks the third time Negrete has received EAGL Specialist of the Week, as she was awarded the honor twice during her sophomore year in 2021, while additionally being named the EAGL Rookie of the Week three times during her 2020 freshman season.
Negrete's showing at Auburn included competing on vault, floor, and beam, landing a trio of podium finishes. Her night was highlighted by a 9.900 on beam which resulted in a tie for first place with multiple Auburn gymnasts including Olympic Gold Medalist Suni Lee. Her score of 9.900 on beam additionally marked her second score of 9.900 in the event dating back to the Wolfpack's tri-meet against George Washington and Pitt.
Negrete tied Emily Shepard for a third-place finish on vault at 9.850, both of which served as the Wolfpack's highest score, while her floor tally of 9.875 additionally served as NC State's highest mark in the event.
Negrete and the rest of the Wolfpack will be back in action in Reynolds Coliseum on Saturday, Feb. 4 with a tri-meet against Western Michigan and in-state rival North Carolina.
