Pack Notes
- NC State won its ACC opener on Saturday afternoon, knocking off Boston College, 84-78, in overtime.
- The Pack led for over 35 minutes of the ballgame, but BC used a late run in regulation to force overtime. NC State made three of its four three-point attempts and seven of its eight free throws in overtime to surge past the Eagles.
- The win was the Pack's first ACC overtime road win since Jan. 27, 2018 when NC State defeated 10th-ranked North Carolina, 95-91, in extra time in Chapel Hill.
- Graduate guard DJ Horne led the Pack with a season-high 21 points, while also passing out a season-high five assists and added five rebounds in the win. Horne assisted on all three of NC State's three-point field goals in overtime and made five of his six free throw attempts in the extra five minutes.
- Junior forward Mohamed Diarra came off the bench and scored eight points and had a career-high 18 rebounds. The France native's 18 rebounds are the most by an NC State player in an ACC game since Richard Howell had 18 rebounds in the Pack's 84-78 win over top-ranked Duke on Jan. 12, 2013.
- Diarra now has three double-digit rebounding games in seven games this season. A minor ankle injury limited Diarra to just 39 combined minutes in a four-game stretch from Charleston Southern through the Ole Miss. If Diarra sees 20 minutes of action in a game this season, he has pulled down at least 10 rebounds every time. He ranks 10th in the ACC in rebounding at 7.1 rebounds per game.
- Through seven games, NC State has had a diverse scoring attack. Six different players have led NC State in scoring this season (DJ Burns, DJ Horne, Ben Middlebrooks, Casey Morsell, Dennis Parker, Jr., and Jayden Taylor). Eight different players have scored in double figures and three different players have scored at least 20 points in a game.

Wednesday Storylines
- Wednesday is the Pack's annual Heritage Game where it returns to Reynolds Coliseum, its home from 1949-1999. The Pack is 24-2 since the 1999-2000 season when playing at Reynolds Coliseum.
NC State has a 46-2 (.958) record against non-conference opponents in regular season home games under head coach Kevin Keatts.
- Wednesday's game is the 200th for Kevin Keatts as head coach of the Pack.
- Taylor stuffing the stat sheet: Over the last games, junior guard Jayden Taylor is averaging 14.8 points on 50 percent shooting (19-of-38), 5.8 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game.
- Win the turnover battle: NC State has lost the turnover battle the last two games. Last season, NC State had fewer or the same number of turnovers as its opponent in 29 of 34 games. NC State entered the last week with a +7.8 turnover margin which was fifth best in NCAA D1 and led the ACC, but now the Pack ranks 30th in turnover margin at +4.3 and second in the ACC. In the Keatts' era, NC State is 90-36 (71.4%) when it has less turnovers than its opponent, but is just 20-33 (37.7%) when it has more turnovers than its opponent.Â
- Get out and Go: After being held to just two transition points in the loss to Ole Miss on Tuesday, NC State was back to its running ways on Saturday, scoring 16 fast break points in the win at Boston College. For the season, NC State is averaging 16.7 fast break points per game which ranks as the 19th-most in NCAA DI. If you take out the two-point performance at Ole Miss, the Pack's average rises to 19.1 per game which would rank ninth in the NCAA.
