
Wolfpack Women Take Home Seventh-Straight NCAA Regional Title

Eight total Wolfpack athletes took home NCAA Southeast All-Region honors
SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The NC State Men's and Women's Cross Country teams returned to action today at the 2023 NCAA Southeast Regional hosted by USC Upstate.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The day started in familiar fashion for the Pack, with the women's squad taking home its seventh NCAA Regional Championship in a row after totaling 52 points in the women's 6k. Katelyn Tuohy clocked in at 19:29.8 and set a new course record to finish first and win her second-straight individual Regional Title.
Behind Tuohy came Sam Bush and Grace Hartman, who finished sixth and eighth, respectively, with times of 19:56.0 and 19:58.6. Gionna Quarzo finished in 12th after running a time of 20:05.4 and teammate Jenna Schulz rounded out the top-25 with a 25th-place time of 20:30.9.
Tuohy, Bush, Hartman, Quarzo, and Schulz were all named to the All-Region team.
In the men's 10k, Hannes Burger mounted a comeback and finished 12th overall with a time of 29:23.3 to achieve All-Region status. Brett Gardner finished close behind, coming in 15th after running the 10k in 29:29.4. Toby Gualter (29:36.3) and Dan McGoey (29:37.7) finished 21st and 23rd to achieve All-Region status.
UP NEXT
With the victory, the women's squad captured an automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Charlottesville, VA on November 18.
The men's team will await seeding for a potential at-large bid that will be announced during the 2023 NCAA Selection show which will be streamed on NCAA.com tomorrow at 5:00 p.m.
