
Wrestling returns to Reynolds for home match against Binghamton

RALEIGH After two months on the road, the NC State wrestling team returns to Reynolds Coliseum Friday night.Â

The No. 6 Wolfpack host Binghamton at 7 pm. The match will air on ACCNX. Andrew Sanders and national champion Michael Macchiavello will be on the call.Â
Â
NC State currently has eight starters in the Intermat or FloWrestling rankings. The Pack starts 2023 with a perfect 8-0 record.

Series history: NC State is a perfect 3-0 all-time against the Bearcats. The most recent Wolfpack victory was a 35-7 win in 2022.

Matchups: Friday's matchup will feature two head-to-head showdowns of ranked opponents. In the 184-pound class, NC State's Trent Hidlay, ranked No. 3 by Intermat, will take on No. 23 Jacob Nolan. In the heavyweight division, No. 13 Owen Trephan will take on No. 21 Cory Day of Binghamton.Â

Last time out: NC State traveled to New Orleans for the Journeyman Collegiate Duals and defeated Northern Iowa, 27-12, to win the Red Pool. Four Pack wrestlers went undefeated during the two-day event. NC State defeated Lehigh and Cal-Poly on the first day of the tournament.
