No. 5 NC State welcomes Army on Military Appreciation Night

RALEIGH NC State is home for the second week in a row, hosting Army West Point on Military Appreciation Night.

The Pack (9-0) climbed to No. 5 in the polls this week and for the first time this season, has 10 guys in the Intermat rankings.

Friday's match against the Black Nights (2-3) will be the final test before NC State starts conference duals. Action starts at 7 pm and will be aired on ACCNX.

Series history: NC State is 3-2 all-time against Army. The last meeting was in 2016, a 32-6 win by the Wolfpack.

Matchups: Friday's matchup will feature two head-to-head showdowns of ranked opponents. In the 125 pound class, NC State's Jarrett Trombley (No. 30) will take on Army's Ethan Berginc, who is ranked No. 32. In the 174 class, Alex Faison, currently ranked No. 31 by Intermat, will take on Ben Pasiuk, who is ranked No 21.

Last time out: NC State returned home after two months on the road and defeated Binghamton, 36-3. N.C. State dropped the first match of the night, but proceeded to win the next nine to cruise. The Wolfpack had two pin falls (Ed Scott, Isaac Trumble) and three major decisions (Ryan Jack, Trent Hidlay, Owen Trephan) on the night.
