NC State Heads to Tallahassee for Thursday Night Matchup with FSU

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Wolfpack women's basketball team (13-3, 3-2 ACC) makes its first trip to Tallahassee, Fla., since the 2018-19 season on Thursday night for a road matchup at Florida State (15-3, 4-1 ACC).

The game will tip off at 6 p.m. on the ACC Network, and Andrew Sanders and Ernie Myers will have the radio call on WKNC 88.1 FAM in Raleigh and on the Varsity Network app.

A WIN ON THURSDAY WOULD
• Be the 1,012th win in program history (1,011-481)
• Be head coach Wes Moore's 794th career win (793-241)
• Be Moore's 236th win at NC State (235-72)
• Mark the Wolfpack's sixth in a row over Florida State
• Extend NC State's road streak against ACC opponents, which started Feb. 10, 2022, to five games
• Hand Florida State its first home loss of the season

NOTING THE WOLFPACK (13-3, 3-2 ACC)
• NC State checked in at No. 11 in Monday's release of the AP Top 25, moving down just one spot from last week's ranking. The Pack is the second-highest among five ACC women's basketball teams who are currently ranked.
• The Wolfpack ranks in the top 25 nationally in fewest fouls per game (10th - 13.0), blocks per game (15th - 5.3), rebound margin (19th - +9.8), three-point percentage (20th - .369), field-goal percentage (22nd - .464), rebounds per game (22nd - 43.3)
• Two Wolfpack players average 10+ points - Diamond Johnson (13.9) and Jada Boyd (10.8). Jakia Brown-Turner (9.6) and Camille Hobby (8.3) are within a point per game of that double-figure average.
• NC State has four players averaging 9+ points per game overall and seven players averaging 7+ points per game. All of those women are shooting 37+ percent from the field this season. The Pack is one of five programs nationally (Baylor, Miami, SFA, Texas) that has seven players with those marks.
• NC State is the only one of those teams with all of those seven play- ers also averaging 3.9+ rebounds per game this year.
• River Baldwin, who is averaging 6.6 points this season, leads the team in rebounding average with 5.4 per game
• Johnson has compiled a team-best three-point shooting percent- age of .468 to rank 13th nationally in the category. She's shot 50+ percent from distance in eight of 12 games played.

SERIES HISTORY (NC State leads 34-16)
• Thursday's game marks the 51st overall meeting between NC State and Florida State. Except for the 2020-21 COVID season, the teams have faced off at least once every season since 1991-92.
• NC State is on a five-game winning streak over the Seminoles and has won seven of the last eight in the series between the squads.
• Thursday is the Pack's first trip to Tallahassee since the 2018-19 season. The team was scheduled to visit Florida State in 2020-21, but that game was postponed and ultimately canceled due to COVID-19 protocols in the Wolfpack program.
• The Pack is 11-9 when playing on the Seminoles' home court.
• NC State's last trip to Tallahassee marked Florida State's most recent win in the series, a 75-70 win for the Seminoles on Feb. 7, 2019. The Pack's last road win at Florida State was on Jan. 2, 2017.
• The Wolfpack is 8-3 against Florida State under the leadership of head coach Wes Moore.
• NC State and Florida State last faced off in the quarterfinals of the 2022 ACC Tournament on March 4, 2022. The Wolfpack won the matchup by 30 points (84-54).
