LINCOLN, Neb. – The No. 19 NC State women's soccer team earned a 0-0 draw at Nebraska on Thursday night at Hibner Stadium.
After a scoreless first half with no shots on goal from either team, NC State (4-1-2) logged the first three shots in the second half. Fernanda Soto recorded the first Wolfpack attempt of the second half in the 57th minute, while Jameese Joseph fired a shot of her own less than four minutes later in the 61st minute.
The Pack's best attempt of the night came in the 67th minute when Annika Wohner just missed a close-range effort at the right post. After earning a corner kick, NC State crossed in a ball from the left flank, finding the feet of Wohner at the far post. Her shot missed just wide of the Cornhuskers' goal to keep the game scoreless.
Soto also almost added her name to the scoresheet in the 85th minute when her attempt from inside the box drifted high and wide of the top-right corner.
Wolfpack goalkeeper Maria Echezarreta made two saves to post her third clean sheet of the season. She registered both her saves in the final seven minutes of Thursday's draw.
Sarah Weber led Nebraska (2-3-2) with five shots, firing one of her attempts on target. NC State and Nebraska tied with three corner kicks apiece.
