Volleyball Tops Elon in Balanced Attack

RALEIGH -- NC State volleyball led a balanced attack in its 3-1 (21-25, 25-15, 25-23, 25-20) win over Elon Saturday afternoon.

Madison Williams, Amanda Rice, Ava Brizard all totaled 12 kills. Williams' 12 kills were a career high this season.Â

Naomi Cabello tallied 38 assists for the Pack.
Â
Graduate Priscilla Hernandez totaled 21 digs on the afternoon.

Set One (21-25)
The Pack took an early lead in the set but Elon kept the score close. Vanja Bukilic put NC State on the board first with a kill. Elon took a 14-13 lead and the Pack struggled to regain momentum. Bukilic ended the set with five kills for NC State.

Set Two (25-15)
NC State the first three points for an early lead and never looked back. The Pack held a nine-point lead mid-way through the set. Williams tallied several kills in set two to help maintain the Pack's lead.

Set Three (25-23)
The two teams fought in a back and forth battle, but NC State came out on top. With Cabello behind the service line, the Pack took the last two points after two straight attacking errors by Elon.

Set Four (25-20)
The Pack trailed to start, but quickly took a lead. Elon kept the game close throughout the second half of the set. NC State led 21-14 and Elon managed to minimize the Pack's lead to four. Williams and Brizard tallied the last three kills for NC State.

The Pack will host Tennessee in its final match of the NC State Classic on Saturday evening at 7pm.
