Gaynor Garners CoSIDA Academic All-American Honors

AUSTIN, Texas - NC State track & field and cross country runner Gavin Gaynor has been named a Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Third Team Academic All-American, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.
The honor is the first of Gaynor's career after he attained All-District accolades in 2021 and 2022.
The Hudson, Ohio, native posted an All-ACC performance in cross country for the fourth season in a row during his 2021 campaign and additionally was a Second Team All-ACC honoree for indoor track & field as part of the school record-setting DMR squad.
Gaynor ran the third-fastest 800m (1:49.95) and 1500m (3:42.11) times in program history during the 2022 outdoor season and clocked a 4:00.22 in the indoor Mile for the second-quickest program mark. He was selected for the All-ACC Academic Teams for both cross country and indoor track & field for the 2021-22 seasons.
He completed his BS in Chemical Engineering with a GPA of 3.76, then he completed his Master of Science in Chemical Engineering with a 3.71 GPA. He is currently pursuing his PhD in Forest Biomaterials.Â
