GREENSBORO, N.C. – Logan Morris of NC State softball has been named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Second Team as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning.
The Second Team selection is the first all-conference honor for Morris and she becomes the 15th student-athlete in program history to be listed on the Second Team.
The Sumter, S.C., native has been dominant all season as she finished the regular season leading the team in batting average (.377), slugging percentage (.688), on-base percentage (.484), hits (58), homers (13) and RBI (44) while being second on the team in runs with 34. On the year, Morris leads the team with 15 multi-hit games including five three-hit performances.
Additionally, the third baseman holds the team's longest hitting streak (15) and on-base streak (28). She set the team's longest on-base streak this season in the first 28 games. Morris has not been shy of the big moment as she has seven multi-RBI games highlighted by driving in five or more RBI in three games.
Morris matched her career high with six RBI in the 11-0 (5 inn.) win over Central Connecticut State on Feb. 22 at Dail. She finished the game going a perfect 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and six RBI, becoming the first NC State player to finish with six RBI since 2020.
In the ACC, Morris is ranked in the top 10 in five categories – on-base percentage (fifth), hits (sixth), home runs (sixth), RBI (seventh) and slugging percentage (ninth). Additionally, earlier this season Morris was named ACC Co-Player of the Week on March 9.
NC State earned the No. 10 seed in the ACC Championship and will face No. 7 Georgia Tech in the First Round. First pitch is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at Vartabedian Field in Pittsburgh on ACC Network on Wednesday.
