RALEIGH – NC State women's tennis is once again atop the national doubles rankings as Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller were tabbed the No. 1 duo in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Rankings on Wednesday.
Daniel and Miller joined Anna Rogers and Alana Smith as the only two doubles pairs in program history to achieve a No. 1 ranking in doubles action. Headed into the 2022 NCAA Championships, they have compiled a 21-3 record having played 13 of those matches at the top doubles spot for NC State. Eight of their victories this season have been against nationally-ranked opponents, and they are currently in the midst of a seven-match winning streak that started on March 27.
Abigail Rencheli and Amelia Rajecki joined them in the top 25 of the doubles rankings, checking in at No. 25. They have put together a six-match winning streak that started with a March 20 victory over the nation's 13th-ranked duo.
Four members of the Pack are ranked in doubles - Daniel (No. 13), Rencheli (No. 42), Alana Smith (No. 60) and Priska Nugroho (No. 70).
As a team, the Wolfpack moved to No. 7 nationally. The team has been featured in the national top eight every week this season and has been in the national top 15 of every rankings release since Feb. 26, 2019.
NC State now prepares for the 2022 NCAA Championships. Team selections will be announced live on NCAA.com on Monday, May 2 at 6:30 p.m. and singles and doubles participants will be released the following day.
