#20 Pack Gets 4-0 Sweep Against #19 Blue Devils

RALEIGH - The No. 20 NC State men's tennis team (17-7, 6-5 ACC) recorded a top-20 defeat of No. 19 Duke, 4-0, on Friday, tabbing its fourth-straight conference win.

DOUBLES RECAP
Doubles play was tight early, but NC State was able to get a pair of wins to clinch the point.

On court one, 38th-ranked Robin Catry and Luca Staeheli defeated Niroop Vallabhaneni and Faris Khan in a quick 6-2 win.

Things were knotted up on court two and remained that way throughout the end of doubles, but the Pack secured the doubles point with a 6-3 win by Collin Shick and Braden Shick over Andrew Zhang and Andrew Dale.

SINGLES RECAP
The Wolfpack made a strong showing in singles, taking five of the six first sets for the second match in a row.

No. 101 Catry was the first with a win, defeating Khan 6-3, 6-1 just moments before Damien Salvestre took down Edu Guell 6-3, 6-2 to put the squad one win away from the team victory.

On court one, No. 116 Rafa Izquierdo Luque cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 takedown of No. 43 Johns.

UP NEXT
The Pack wraps up its regular season with a 1 p.m. matchup against No. 18 North Carolina at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. NC State will celebrate its 2022 senior class at the match.
