
@PackWrestle Nabs Four Top-Five Seeds for NCAA Championships

NC State one of only three schools with 10 NCAA qualifiers
RALEIGH, N.C. – The 2022 ACC Champion NC State wrestling team tied a school record with 10 NCAA qualifiers, and found out its seeds for the 2022 NCAA Championships. The Wolfpack will have four seeded fifth or better, eight in the top-20, and all 10 21st or better.

The 2022 NCAA Championships will take place March 17-19 in Detroit.

For only the second time in school history (2017), the Pack will have all 10 of its starters compete at the NCAA Champions. NC State was one of only three schools nationally (Iowa and Northwestern) with 10 NCAA qualifiers this year.

• Gr. Tariq Wilson – #2 seed at 149 pounds
The 2022 ACC Champion will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the fourth time in his career. Already with a pair of third place NCAA finishes, Wilson enters 15-0.

• R-So. Trent Hidlay - #3 seed at 184 pounds
The 2022 ACC Champion reached the NCAA Finals last year in his first attempt. Hidlay comes in undefeated at 17-0, with 15 wins for bonus and 9 vs. ranked foes.

• Fr. Ed Scott - #4 seed at 157 pounds
The 2022 ACC Champion will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career. Scott is 22-1 on the season, and coming off a 3-2 win over 2021 national champion O'Connor in the ACC final.

• Gr. Hayden Hidlay - #4 seed at 174 pounds
NC State's only 4-time All-American will go for history as he tries to claim a podium finish once again. Hidlay enters the 2020 NCAAs with a 14-2 mark, and has racked up over 100 career wins.

• R-So. Jakob Camacho - #14 seed at 125 pounds
The 2022 ACC Champion will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the second time in his career. He has won 9 of his last 10 matches leading up.

• R-Fr. Kai Orine - #15 seed at 133 pounds
Orine will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career. He recently posted a podium finish at the ACC Championship with a pair of wins.

• Fr. Isaac Trumble - #15 seed at 197 pounds
Trumble will be making his first trip to the NCAA Championships. He was recently an ACC Finalist, and has won eight of his last nine matches, including a 5-0 mark in ACC duals.

• Fr. Ryan Jack - #18 seed at 141 pounds
Jack will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the first time in his career. He was an ACC Finalist, scoring a last-second top-10 in the semifinals to reach the championship.

• Gr. Thomas Bullard - #21 seed at 165 pounds
Bullard will be competing at the NCAA Championships for the fourth time in his career. Bullard posted a podium finish at the ACCs and has won 9 of his last 11 matches.

• Jr. Tyrie Houghton - #21 seed at 285 pounds
Houghton will be making his first trip to the NCAA Championships. He was recently an ACC Finalist, and has three ranked wins on the season and 19-8 overall.
