Men’s Tennis Makes Trip to Louisville, Notre Dame

RALEIGH - The No. 23 NC State men's tennis program (13-6, 2-4 ACC) is set to travel to Louisville for a Friday, April 1 matchup and Notre Dame for a Sunday, April 3 competition as it continues its ACC season.
PACK IN THE RANKINGS
NC State reentered the top 25 in the ITA team rankings on March 30, checking in at No. 23.
In the March 23 ITA singles rankings, Rafa Izquierdo Luque checked in at No. 82 while Robin Catry remains ranked in singles at No. 108. The junior is on the doubles list at No. 19 with Luca Staeheli.
The duo of Martins Rocens and Fons Van Sambeek rounds out the group of ranked players with the No. 39 spot in the ITA doubles rankings.
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
Louisville holds a 14-6 overall record with an ACC record of 6-2. The matchup with NC State will be the team's third top-25 matchup in a row.
The Cardinals rank 27th in the country as a team. Etienne Donnet checks into the ITA singles rankings at No.117 while the duo of Matthew Fung and Natan Rodrigues is ranked 71st in doubles.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING IRISH
Notre Dame enters the weekend of competition with a record of 14-8 (4-4 ACC). The squad faces off against Wake Forest Friday before competing against NC State Sunday.
Axel Nefve ranks 53rd and checks into the doubles rankings with Matthew Che at 41st. As a team, the Fighting Irish are ranked 26th.
LAST TIME OUT
NC State defeated Virginia Tech, 4-1, in Blacksburg on Sunday behind a pair of doubles wins and three singles victories.
Collin Shick and Van Sambeek got a doubles win, as did Joseph Schrader and Yannai Barkai, to help secure the doubles point. Catry, Rocens and Van Sambeek each tabbed singles victories.

NC State returns to Raleigh to host Clemson in a 12 p.m. matchup Sunday, April 10.
