Hayden and Trent Hidlay Advance to Friday Night’s NCAA Semifinals

Pack sits in fifth place halfway through
DETROIT, MICH. – Brothers Hayden (174 pounds) and Trent (184) both won their first match of Day 2 of the NCAA Championships and will both be wrestling in the NCAA Semifinals tonight against the defending NCAA Champion in those two weight classes.
Hayden has advanced to the NCAA Semifinals for the fourth time in his career, while Trent is 2-for-2 in reaching the semifinals after doing it last year in his first attempt.
In the team standings, NC State is fifth with 37 points. Iowa is fourth with 37.5 and Cornell is sixth with 34.5 followed by Virginia Tech with 31.

Both Hidlay brothers advanced to the NCAA Semifinals for the second straight year. Hayden got a takedown in the first and another in the third to take out Iowa's Kemerer, 5-3. Trent also had a takedown in the first and third, and added in 1:44 of ride time for a 6-2 decision over Oregon State's Munoz.
Wilson was put into a cradle by Lovett in the second period and suffered a fall, while Monday scored the lone takedown of the match in the first period to down Scott.

Camacho started the Pack's day with a win in the first bout. He recorded a takedown in all three periods, including one with two seconds left to seal the 8-5 win. Orine followed suit, as his second period takedown was the lone of the match in a 3-2 decision. Jack scored a takedown and a reversal in the first, then a final takedown with 10 seconds left sealed the 6-4 win.
Bullard's Wolfpack career came to an end as he suffered his second loss of the tournament. Trumble and Houghton also had their tournament runs come to an end with their second losses.
After their earlier wins in the consolation round, Camacho, Orine and Jack all saw their tournaments end with a second loss.
