CLEMSON, S.C. – Second-ranked NC State women's tennis tied the best start to ACC play in program history as it improved to 4-0 in league action with a 6-1 win at Clemson on Friday night.
The Wolfpack is now 16-1 overall as it continues its best start to a season in team history.
NC State gutted out a tightly-contested doubles point and picked up additional victories on five of six singles courts to cruise to the team victory. Jaeda Daniel and Nell Miller broke to tie their doubles match at 6-6 and force the tiebreaker that they went on to win to clinch the doubles point.
Daniel, Priska Nugroho, Sophie Abrams and Amelia Rajecki then went on to earn straight-sets wins in singles, and Abigail Rencheli rounded out the team's sixth point of the night in a super tiebreaker for her third set.
NC State continues its weekend on the road with a trip to Georgia Tech on Sunday. First serve is set for 2 p.m. from the Byers Tennis Complex in Atlanta.
