Toni Starova Selected To Czech Republic National Team For 2022 SheBelieves Cup

NC State women's soccer's Toni Starova has been selected to the Czech Republic National Team for the 2022 SheBelieves Cup. The Czech Republic opens their event on February 17 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif., vs. USA at 11 pm ET on ESPN.
"As Toni returns from an injury that kept her out most of the fall, this is a great reward for her work to return," said head coach Tim Santoro. "Hopefully, this is a springboard for her getting back to the top of her game this spring and beyond."
US Soccer will host the seventh annual SheBelieves Cup, presented by Visa®, from Feb. 17-23 as the Czech Republic, Iceland and New Zealand join the USA for the four-team international tournament. USA will welcome two of Europe's top up-and-coming sides to the 2022 SheBelieves Cup along with the Football Ferns, the co-host of FIFA Women's World Cup 2023.
While the entirety of last year's SheBelieves Cup was held at one stadium in Orlando, Fla., this year's tournament will be staged in two cities and two stadiums with the strict COVID protocols still in place during the organization of the event. The first two doubleheaders will take place at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, CA, while the final doubleheader will move to Toyota Stadium in Frisco, TX.
Inspired by the U.S. Women's National Team, SheBelieves is a movement to encourage young women and girls to reach their dreams, athletic or otherwise. The campaign was originally launched in the run-up to the 2015 Women's World Cup and has evolved into a special bond between U.S. Soccer and its fans, taking a powerful message of empowerment and that of believing in yourself into communities across the nation.
