Wolfpack linebacker Isaiah Moore has been named a College Finalist for the 2023 Coach Wooden Citizenship Cup. The award is presented to six distinguished athletes from any sport – male/female high school, male/female intercollegiate, and male/female professional – who best display character, teamwork, and citizenship, the attributes Athletes for a Better World deems central to transforming individuals, sport, and society.
Moore's nomination focused on the required topics of athletic performance – including his training habits – as well as his role on campus, in the community and the world.
As an athlete, he's in his fifth year as a starter and leads the team with 54 career games started. He was a second-team AP All-ACC performer in 2022, ranking third in the ACC in tackles for loss vs. league competition.
He made a comeback from a significant season-ending injury in 2021.
Since May 2020, Moore has been a key leader in the Athletic DeÂpartment's efforts against racial and social injustice. In this time, Isaiah was instrumental in the founding of PackUnited, a student-athlete non profit organization whose three pillars are education, awareness, and action. He's also held various leadership positions on campus.
The announcement of the one male and one female College Cup recipients will be made during the first week of January, 2023.Â
