Katelyn Tuohy, Laurie Henes earn top ACC cross country honors

Tuohy named top female runner in the conference, Henes is the Coach of the Year
RALEIGH Following an undefeated season in which she set multiple course records, capping it off with a national championship, Katelyn Tuohy was named the ACC Women's Runner of the Year.
The ACC announced its postseason Cross Country awards on Tuesday, as voted on by the league's 15 coaches.
For the seventh straight season Laurie Henes was named the ACC Women's Coach of the Year.
One week ago, Tuohy was named the USTFCCCA National Women's Athlete of the Year and Henes was named the National Women's Coach of the Year.
Last month, Tuohy, a sophomore from Stony Point, NY, won her first cross country national championship. On a cool day in Stillwater, OK, Tuohy set a course record, crossing the line in 19:27.6. Tuohy was also the Southeast Regional and ACC champion. Her 19:08.9 finish at the ACC championships was a Virginia Panorama Farms course record.
During the 2022 season, Tuohy finished first at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational and the Joe Piane Invitational. Tuohy becomes the fifth ACC Performer of the Year and second in a row.
In her 17th season, Henes led the Pack to a second straight NCAA title, becoming the school's first program to repeat as national champions.
The team also won the Southeast Region Championships, ACC Cross Country Championships, Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational, Joe Piane Invitational and adidas Wolfpack Invitational.
Henes was named the Southeast Region Women's Coach of the Year for the seventh straight time and 11th time overall. The ACC Coach of the Year honor is her eighth overall and the 23rd for an NC State women's head coach.
