NC State Tabbed Second in EAGL Preseason Poll

Pack Selected in Top Three of EAGL Preseason Poll During Each of Landrus' Six Seasons as Head Coach
WEIRTON, W.Va. – The East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) announced the results of its 2023 preseason poll on Tuesday with NC State tabbed in a tie for second place alongside Temple.
The Wolfpack received 46 total points and one first-place vote, just two points shy of North Carolina who was selected as the preseason favorite. NC State has been in the top-three of the EAGL preseason poll in all six years under head coach Kim Landrus' leadership in addition to every year dating back to 2011.
Defending EAGL champion George Washington led the way with two first-place votes, as the Colonials were selected to finish fifth in the poll conducted by the league's eight head coaches.
The full 2023 preseason rankings are as follows with first-place votes in parenthesis:
1: North Carolina – 48 (1)
T2: NC State – 46 (1)
T2: Temple – 46 (1)
4: Towson – 43 (1)
5: George Washington – 42 (2)
T6: Pittsburgh – 25 (1)
T6: New Hampshire – 25 (1)
8: LIU – 13
NC State will begin EAGL competition at its season-opening meet in Chapel Hill, N.C. in a dual meet against in-state foe North Carolina on Monday, Jan. 9. The Wolfpack will open its home slate of EAGL action on Saturday, Jan. 21 when George Washington and Pittsburgh travel to Raleigh for a tri-meet.
NC State will showcase its 2023 squad for the first time at the Red & White Exhibition on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 5 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum. Admission to the event is free and attendees can park in the Coliseum Deck on the southeast side of Reynolds.
