NC State placed five in double figures in the win
PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS – The NC State men's basketball team had five players score in double figures as the Pack took down Butler, 76-61, Friday evening at the Battle 4 Atlantis.
Jarkel Joiner led the Pack with 15 points. D.J. Burns, Jr., scored 14 points, Dusan Mahorcic added 13 while Jack Clark and Terquavion Smith each scored 10.
Butler tied the game at 20 with 6:59 to play in the first half on a Chuck Harris lay-up, but NC State responded by closing the half on a 15-2 run to head into halftime with a 35-22 advantage.
The Pack held Butler to just 32.3 percent shooting in the opening 20 minutes, and the Bulldogs made just three field goals in the final 10 minutes of the half.
NC State scored the first four points of the second half to push the run to 19-2 and give the Pack a 17 points advantage with 18 minutes to play.
The Pack's lead would grow as high as 20, and Butler would never cut the lead to single digits in the second half.
Harris led Butler with 20 points, while Jayden Taylor added 18. Former Pack player, Manny Bates had eight points, nine rebounds and three blocks.
NC State returns to action Tuesday, Nov. 29 when it hosts William & Mary at PNC Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will shown on ACC Network Extra.
