THE ELITE OF THE ELITE
With its sixth straight fall appearance in the NCAA Tournament, NC State is one of just six ACC programs to make the national tournament the past six fall seasons (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2021 and 2022). The Wolfpack is joined by just North Carolina, Florida State, Virginia, Duke and Clemson in the select group.
NC STATE IN THE NCAA TOURNAMENT
Overall, NC State holds a 15-14-6 all-time record in the NCAA Tournament and has advanced out of the first round 13 times. Since 2016, it has reached the Sweet Sixteen three times (2016, 2018 and 2019) and made an NCAA Second Round appearance in 2017 and 2021.
THE GOLD STANDARD
Once again, the ACC ranked first among all conferences with 10 teams selected for the 2022 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament. The ACC has placed a team in the Women's College Cup in 39 of the past 40 NCAA Tournaments and in each of the past 17. Current ACC programs combine for 27 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championships. The ACC also again ranked first among all conferences in league RPI.
JAMEESE JOSEPH EARNS ALL-ACC HONORS
NC State senior star forward Jameese Joseph earned All-ACC honors for the third time in her standout Wolfpack career after being named Third Team All-ACC on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Joseph led the Pack with eight goals and 18 points during the regular season, recording a team-high four game-winning strikes. Her four game-winners also tied for first in the ACC. She buried two of her game-winning tallies in league victories over Wake Forest and Clemson. She has now earned ACC All-Freshman Team honors in 2019, Second Team All-ACC honors in 2021 and Third Team All-ACC accolades in 2022.
2022 REGULAR SEASON NC STATE REWIND
This year's resume was highlighted by a consistently high mark in the RPI, never falling outside of the top 40 the entire season. NC State reached as high as No. 14 in the RPI rankings during the regular season and never fell below No. 39. The Pack's strength of schedule closed out at No. 12 in the country.
NC State faced 10 opponents inside the top 50 of the RPI and dropped five of its seven matches to teams ranked inside the top 15 of the RPI rankings. The Wolfpack earned three results against teams ranked No. 19 or higher in the RPI, earning a 2-1 road victory at Clemson while also earning draws against No. 16 Georgetown and No. 12 South Carolina.
The Pack also battled through adversity throughout the 2022 campaign following preseason injuries to 2021 ACC All-Freshman Team honoree Emika Kawagishi and incoming true freshman Alex Mohr. NC State also lost true freshman Eliza Rich for the year during the regular season.
